Premier League Productions gave Jammy Custard the opportunity to help tell the story of one of England’s footballing legends. Using 2D animation to complement the humour of Crouch’s storytelling style. Jammy Custard created a design that showcases Crouch’s personality in a way that’s instantly recognisable to fans. The result was a series of short animations that fit within a live-action interview, bringing the life of one of the UK’s most recognisable athletes to the small screen.
After storyboarding large sections of the animation, my role was to set and oversee the visual language and style before leading a small team of in-house and freelance designers to hit the project's tight edit deadlines. The documentary was shown across multiple Sky Sports channels in 2021 and made its way to Amazon Prime in 2023.
