Wales is one of the few nations in the world where physical punishment is outright banned. This short film, made with Children in Wales and in partnership with the Welsh Government, highlights this legislation and its importance, using an emotive narrative of a family breaking apart because of the fear of punishment and abuse. With a loose narrative set and signed off by the Welsh Government, I was tasked with designing a family and world that could embody that narrative and be relatable to the broad age range of 7-14. The film is currently being run in workshops across schools in Wales.
